This week our Speaker is MICHELE NAAR-OBED with her talk titled:
“The Catholic Worker Movement: A Place Where Miracles Can Really Happen“
BIO: Michele Naar-Obed is a long standing member of the Catholic Worker Movement currently living at the Hildegard House Catholic Worker in Duluth MN. She and her husband Greg Boertje-Obed continue the catholic worker tradition of practicing the Works of Mercy as well as resisting violence in all of its forms. Michele worked directly with the water protectors to stop Line 3 and was one of the four catholic workers in the “Four Necessity Valve Turners’ action. She has traveled extensively to the Kurdish region of Northern Iraq participating in unarmed civilian accompaniment work and was instrumental in forming Duluth’s 5th Sister City with Rania, Iraqi Kurdistan.
