Our Speaker Sunday is ROBERT AHO. His topic is “REMAINING at EASE DURING TURBULENT TIMES”.
The talk will include insights into our energetic dimension, various ways to deal with constant change, as well as how to diminish disturbing emotions. This topic will be further explained as related to our Real Condition beyond belief, as energy. Robert will explain how we must deal with energy, how having knowledge of this will help us when we die, as well as how we face dreams and daily life.
Bio: Robert Aho is a member of Lake Superior Interfaith Community Church, and a frequent speaker, often focusing on his experiences in the death bardo, along with Spiritual Practice. He spends much time meditating in nature. Although he has had several Buddhist teachers of various backgrounds, his main practice is Dzogchen, which is considered the ninth vehicle of Buddhism. Dzogchen actually predates Buddhism by at least several thousand years.
Robert’s Root Guru is Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche, who has recently passed away.
Robert has led meditation groups, led retreats, written two books, Timeless Luminosity and The Frog: A Spiritual Autobiography, Spanning Many Lifetimes, given talks all over the world, and writes a newsletter, which includes a podcast. Although Robert is retiring, he also practices architecture, and has done numerous activities related to this, written articles, taught classes, as well as organized and led events. Robert also keeps busy with a wide variety of various creative endeavors, such as poetry, prose, painting, photography, and, most recently, publishing.

- John Schneider sent a link to the near-death experience he spoke about last Sunday.
I Saw How Prayer Actually Changes Reality
- We are changing this up. See this link: the Drumming in honor of the Winter Solstice will be Sunday, December 22, after the Service, upstairs in the Sanctuary.
- We have started planning our Christmas Potluck dinner. There is a sign up sheet for this in the Community Room.
- We have set up a donation table to gather hats, mittens, scarves and other clothing items to keep people in need warm. Other donations can include toiletries and personal care items as well. We might also think about toys for children who may not get any other presents this season. Bring them on or before Dec. 22nd
- Let’s share with the community! It was decided at our last board meeting to continue our outreach to organizations by donating monetary contributions from our Sunday lunch donations once a month. This will begin in January.
- Are you interested in starting a Course in Miracles study group? Since we’ve had such a group before, there has been some interest is starting this kind of study group again. Let a board member know if you want to be part of this.
- Please think about joining our snow removal team. Steve and Michael can use your help! Call 218-606-2512
