Sunday Service 06.02.24 Speaker : Christy Rounds

This Sunday our Speaker is Christy Rounds with a Talk on her documentary film, Prophesy, titled–

“Feeling Special vs. Feeling Blessed“

In November 2023, Peru. Through a serendipitous series of events, Christy met indigenous Q’eros Alto Mesayoq, (high priestess) 98 year old Maria Apaza. Maria, who had appeared to Christy in a vision a year earlier, is considered one of the leaders of the Andean Incan tradition and has met the Dalai Lama twice. The mini-documentary, “Prophesy”, is the story of their meeting.

It will be shown before Lunch, but not on Zoom. It is 16 minutes long. Our Service will be little shorter and Lunch a bit later than usual.

Bio: Christy Rounds is a fourth generation native of Two Harbors who moved away from northern Minnesota after high school. She and her husband spent most of their adult life working in the outdoor industry and traveling the world with their three children.

Then in 2020, after 23 years of marriage, Christy went through a surprise divorce. An ensuing 18,000 mile road trip was primarily inspired by Christy’s 15 year old daughter, whose desire to become a travel influencer dictated the 72 points of interest on their route. Her other two children joined them at various points along the way. Christy’s book, Escape Bound, is the story of their shared adventures.

After another six months with her children traveling in Central and South America, Christy returned home to northern MInnesota and became the executive director for Duluth Sister Cities.
